welcome
Welcome to Chautauqua Lake Central School!
See our long-range goals at the link below.
Chautauqua Lake Central School is the center of learning for over 900 students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. In Fall 2000 we moved into our new, state-of-the-art central school building, truly a place for kids, a place to learn and a place to challenge ourselves to excellence. Our central location and comfortable meeting rooms make our building an ideal location for county-wide meetings and programs.
The district leases space to Erie2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES (Board of Cooperative Educational Services), for special education classes for students ages 5 to 21 from throughout the county, and to the Chautauqua Lake Child Care Center, an independent non-profit organization offering quality care for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers, as well as after-school and summer programs.
In addition, the Community-School Initiative, a partnership among the District and several Chautauqua County agencies, offers the convenience of offices within the school for children and families to receive services from the Center for Family Unity; the Center for Resolution & Justice (for mediation services); the Department of Social Services (for Food Stamp eligibility, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Home Energy Assistance Program and more); Juvenile Services including probation; and the Department of Health, for services such as mental health counseling, pregnancy prevention education and combating childhood obesity. Chautauqua County Mental Health maintains a full-time satellite office in the school building.
Our facility is truly a place for kids, a place to learn and a place to challenge ourselves to excellence. This theme is clearly evident in our Mission Statement, shown on the home page.
